CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CABLEWAY UP TO CHOPOK
NORTH & SOUTH OF CHOPOK WILL BE CONNECTED BY THE CABLE CAR AGAIN!!!

Many years of waiting for the cable car connecting both sides of Chopok is over now. This was decided by the Building office, which gave a final green light for the construction of a comfortable 24 seated cable car, which started already this week… A dream of many skiers and tourists will be a reality soon.

WHAT YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING ABOUT THE NEW CABLEWAY:
• Transport at the wind conditions up to 120 km per hour (approx. 33,3 m/s)
• 22 cabins for 24 persons
• Cabins are fasten on 2 ropes (higher security and wind resistance)
• Project realization is planned for 2 years: In the 1st year the earthworks with lower building are planned, construction of the lower building objects at Priehyba, upper station Chopok, track support , engineering networks and disassembly of the original stations of old cable cars at the top of Chopok. In the 2nd year over ground structures and cable car technology will be installed.
BY THE FUNITEL CONSTRUCTION:
• We will eliminate the layoffs of the upper parts of the resort due to the wind
• The transport capacity of the resort will reach 30000 persons /hour, this is the most in Slovakia
THE POJECT ALSO INCLUDES:
• CONSTRUCTION OF SNOW MAKING SYSTEM IN THE UPPER ZONE OF THE RESORT UP TO KONSKY GRUN completing and launching into the operation already in winter 2011/12
• Building a modern panoramic restaurants ROTUNDA and PRIEHYBA
