NEW CABLEWAY CONSTRUCTION

18th -19th of December  LAUNCHING into the OPERATION!!!

There were extremely windy conditions in the resort on Sunday, the 19th of December.
Despite of this fact the new cable car passed the wind test.  Usage of a special RPD system allowed transport of skiers even though the other devices didn't manage the gust wind from the technical and safety reason. 18th -19th of December  LAUNCHING into the OPERATION!!! Endurance testing of cable car has been successfully completed  on 2nd of December 2010! Cable car passed the tests and it was

transporting 12 tonne load between Zahradky and Priehyba.

 

capacity: 2400 people/hour       down station: 1038,30 m a.s.l.   top station: 1379,30 m a.s.l.

difference in altitude: 341 m    length: 1285,16 m     velocity: 5 m/s   ride time: 4,69 min.

A new cableway is replacing ski lift ZAHRADKY - PRIEHYBA marked as E,
type H210 Tatrapoma from year 1978 (one of the first in Jasna),
which capacity was  800 persons /hour, oblique length of 1498 m, top station 1342 m a.s.l.

WHAT YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING ABOUT THE NEW CABLEWAY:

• It has a three times higher transport capacity than the original ski lift

  (higher of 1600 persons per hour)
• It allows the operation at higher wind speeds: acceptable wind speed: 14m/s,

  not acceptable wind speed: 18m/s (depending on environment)
  Operation at higher wind speed is allowed by new modern RPD system

  and that the cable car is built in forest zone
• It has 62 six-seated seats, 2/3rds from them are with orange bubbles (shields)

  and 1/3rd without, but with weights for greater stability in windy days

 

By building the first track part Zahradky – Priehyba we start to fill the dream of most skier about comfortable connection between northern part of Chopok with south.
