  18.дек 1st SKIING - WINTER SEASON OPENING

  The winter is knocking at the door and we cannot wait to invite you for the first skiing trip. Temperatures are dropping below zero at higher altitude at last, the weather forecasts sound promising, we are starting intensive snowing with artificial snow. THE 2009/2010 WINTER SEASON OPENING and 1st skiing will take place on Friday 18 Dec at the northern slopes of the Chopok hill at JASNÁ for 1 € ! Gradually the ski centres on northern side and southern side will start operating. You will be kept updated about the situation at the resorts on daily basis... 11.12.2009 - the snowing canons are operating! The snowing canons at the Biela Púť, FIS                    and Vrbická pistes have turned over 5000 m3 water into snow so far. 14.12.2009 - snowing has been going on continuously,                    29000 m3 of water have been turned into snow so far;                    the Biela Púť piste will open on Friday and it will be decided shortly if the FIS piste                    and others will be available too...             15.12.2009 - 40000 m3 of water have been turned into snow so far 16.12.2009 - on Friday 18.12. in operation on  Chopku north:                    ski slope FIS at ZÁHRADKY centre and 6-chair lift                    ski slope BIELA PÚŤ and 4-chairlift (in total 3500 m of trails, skipass 1 €/day)                  - on Saturday 19.12. additionaly pistes and cableways:                    on Chopok north ski slope VRBICKÁ and 8-seater gondola (in total 6000 m of trails)                    on Chopok south trail KOSODREVINA-SRDIEČKO and 4-chairlift (in total 1 km of trails) 19.12.2009 - activation of 8-seater gondola Grand-Brhliská! 22.12.2009 - 100056m3 of water have been turned into snow so far - ca 220000m3 of snow... 28.12.2009 - 10-40 cm of natural snow in the resort; artifiacial snowing system in operation again                    113000m3 of water have been turned into snow = ca 245000m3 of snow...

  15.окт IT’S SNOWING AT CHOPOK!!!

  FIRST SNOW has arrived at the Chopok hill. 50 cm have fallen so far and it goes on snowing...  The pistes are not suitable for skiing yet as it is too early for them to be maintained (the first attempt failed due to the ground being still too warm). We will see what the weather brings and keep you updated as far as the date of the first skiing day is concerned. If you have not been discouraged by this news and decided to test the first snow, take care please and follow the Mountain Rescue news and the news on the avalanche situation.
