Trail description: Take the red tourist trail past the Kamenná chalet, across Demänovské sedlo (saddle) and Mt Krúpova hoľa to Mt Ďumbier 2,043 m asl, walk back to Mt Chopok along the same trail.

The summit of Mt Ďumbier, the highest peak of the Low Tatras, offers a perfect 360° view of almost all mountain ranges in Central and Northern Slovakia if the weather is good. In the past, iron ore, gold and stibnite were extracted on the slopes of the mountain. During WWII, Slovak partisans and retreating German soldiers were fighting there. In memory of these fights and the bravery of partisans who were crossing the Low Tatras in the winter of 1944, a memorial to fallen partisans was built next to the nearby chalet of Gen. M. R. Štefánik. Tourists can see chamois, marmots and precious alpine flora when hiking in the area.
