We plan to launch the 2020/2021 ski season on 4.12.2020 but everything depends on the snow conditions in Jasná. Please follow our website and social networks to stay up-to-date.
Will skiing be safe in today´s Coronavirus situation?
Ski resorts can open only if allowed by national authorities who guarantee that the situation is stable and skiers are safe. We have been following official regulations and restrictions carefully from the beginning, have introduced all necessary precautions and are ready to continue with them hoping that the situation will get better soon and our mountain resorts will come to life again.
What if I buy a Smart Season Pass and cannot use it due to an injury/illness to the fullest?
If that should be the case, the General Terms and Conditions say that a medical record must be sent within 10 working days after it is issued to prove that the respective Smart Season Pass cannot be used. Then the pass can be transferred to another user of the same age group. There is no surcharge option for upgrading such pass to another age group level.
What if I buy a Smart Season Pass and the season does not begin?
In such case, you will get the paid purchase price back in the form of credit added to your GOPASS account.
What if the season begins later due to COVID-19 and we cannot ski all winter long?
Nobody wishes this to happen. We really hope all adopted measures will help solve the situation with the COVID-19 illness, and popular tourist and ski resorts will come back to life again. But should mountain and ski resorts stay closed for preventative reasons during the 2020/21 winter season or be opened only for a part of the season, our clients will be compensated.
Will there be special restrictions regarding cableway transport?
Our resort has prepared a special COVID traffic light model that will be updated regularly to guarantee safe moments to all our clients. Face masks, safe distances and disinfection by using all means available are the key.
Will ski schools and après-ski bars be opened in winter?
Ski schools will be opened and follow all required precautions. Après-ski refreshment will be offered while adhering to strict hygiene standards. Social events will be limited based on the restrictions in force. More details will be available soon.
How do you expect the 20/21 winter season to look like in the face of currently rather illogical measures?
All TMR ski resorts are prepared for winter and to launch their snowmaking systems as soon as possible. The ski season begins like always, in the first weeks of December. The planned beginning in Jasná and Štrbské Pleso is scheduled for 4.12.2020. Whether we open a few days sooner or later, this will depend on the weather. But the pandemic can decide how we will operate – if restaurants, information centres, interiors will be available. So far, there are no directions and recommendations of national authorities but we weren´t sitting with our arms folded and have prepared a special Covid traffic light model for mountain resorts in cooperation with Lavex (interest group of cable car and ski lift operators) and the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic. The measures can be made stricter or loosened depending on the situation.
If a resort stays closed due to Covid, will I get my money back? To the Gopass account or to my bank account?
If you buy a ski pass and it cannot be used on the given day due to Covid restrictions, the price will be returned to your Gopass account in the form of credit. The credit can be used to buy other services (ski passes, water park tickets etc.) in the Gopass online shop. As for Smart Season Passes, there is a special guarantee system that includes compensation which will depend on several factors, i.e. the number of opened days in resorts, the duration of restrictions, the number of your skiing days. E.g.: if the season is 20 days long and you ski for 5 days, you will be entitled to receive 50% compensation. Click here to find the guarantee system.
What are your suggestions as for the resort operation during the COVID situation?
We have our own Covid traffic light system that we have created in cooperation with Lavex (interest group of cable car and ski lift operators) and based on experience from abroad. The manual includes precautions in the whole resort: buying ski passes, cable car boarding, transport, restaurant operation, measures for the staff. The measures can be made stricter or loosened depending on the situation.
Will skiing be safe?
We consider skiing to be as safe as any other outdoor sport. As far as cableways are concerned, these are as safe as any other public transport if respective precautions are followed and skiers behave responsibly.
What if restaurants and après ski bars stay closed?
We can perceive it like returning to the roots, i.e. to the joy of skiing ?. Restaurants and après ski bars should work based on clear rules so that we can eliminate any risks. This together with responsible behaviour of skiers will be the foundation of safe skiing adventures.
What if state borders are closed?
Súčasná situácia a najmä preventívne opatrenia by v prvom rade mali pomôcť k stabilizácii. Veríme, že zodpovedný prístup k preventívnym opatreniam bude základom pre čo najskorší návrat života do normálu a zimnú sezónu si budeme môcť užiť na svahoch doma aj za hranicami.
What if people get infected in the resort? Will it be closed?
Ski resorts function like towns or villages. If an infected client or an employee is discovered in any facility, standard measures are taken: the employees of the facility go into quarantine, the same applies to clients that the infected person has been in contact with. We suppose that all respective authorities will be monitoring the situation carefully and act if necessary. We are doing our best to minimise any risks with our own precautious and let people enjoy safe skiing adventures. If anything gets closed, there is a special guarantee system for owners of purchased 1-day and multi-day ski passes and Smart Season passes. Click here to find out more.
Will the capacity of cableway cabins be reduced?
Reducing the capacity of transport facilities doesn´t solve anything. Our aim is to minimise the contact among visitors and potential spread of the disease. This means we have to reduce or eliminate queues at cableways, increase distances. The number of passengers will be probably reduced in cable cars but chairlifts should operate at full capacity so that no queues are formed. This is a very special situation and managing the capacity of the resort together with specific measures as for cable cars and chairlifts is one of the options how to guarantee a safe resort operation in accordance with recommendations of public health officers. But so far, there have not been any official recommendations so we have prepared our own suggestion of precautions how to operate the resort.
What are the ski pass sale terms and the guarantee of use?
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we are doing our best to comply with the wishes of our clients. That´s why we are changing the general terms and conditions, adding money back guarantee, prolonging the sales periods of the best-price products such as Smart Season Passes. The latest valid version of the GTC including the guarantees that apply are available non-stop on the GOPASS website. As no fixed regulations and conditions as for the winter season have been specified by national authorities so far, the offered guarantee terms are based mainly on the existing General Terms and Conditions of the Smart Season Pass.
What´s the guarantee that there will be a ski season? Will I get my money back if I buy a pass?
