Safe Chopok

1. To increase safety on the slopes, selected sections of the busiest ski runs had to be widened and alternative exits from more challenging sections needed to be created. This means:

• New red piste no. 8 Von Roll – an alternative to piste no. 1 Petra Vlhová (new areas around the Von Roll restaurant and reclassification of the upper part of run no. 7).
• Piste no. 1b Vrcholová – Chopok Západ (West) expanded and made safer thanks to comprehensive barrier reconstruction, as an alternative to piste 1a Vrcholová.
• Widened, levelled and floodlit connection no. 13a Happy End, linking Otupné and Biela Púť areas comfortably and more safely, with snowmaking added.
• New blue piste no. 36a Hotelová, allowing a safe exit from the Srdiečko hotel towards Krupová, ideal for less experienced skiers and families with children.
• Revised signs on piste no. 11a FIS Konský grúň – Rovná hoľa. Due to its challenging nature, this piste has been reclassified from red to black, indicating a difficult slope. Skiers will be informed about the classification change before entering the piste. And also about the possibility to choose a safer option to get down, i.e. blue piste no 5b Turistická – Konský grúň – Luková.

2. Enhanced camera system

• Extended camera coverage in the busiest areas.
• 14 new cameras providing coverage in locations including Chopok, Konský grúň, Luková, Rovná hoľa, Priehyba, Predné Dereše, Kosodrevina and Krupová.
• The goal is to have an immediate overview of what is going on, allowing for real-time updates on changing conditions for all visitors to the ski resort.
• Visitors will receive push notifications via the Gopass app for this purpose.
• Resort radio informing in multiple languages.
• Ed-anect screens at cable car boarding stations.
