Travelling Cinema - Štúr 12.7.2026

📅      12. July
🕓      9:15 p.m.
📍      Biela Púť, Jasná

You can enjoy the epic Slovak historical film *ŠTÚR*, directed by Mariana Čengel Solčanská, at a screening during the Biela Púť festival on July 12 at 9:15 p.m., with the actors in attendance. This historical drama offers a modern perspective on a key figure in Slovak history.

The story focuses on the turbulent revolutionary years, when personal sacrifice intersects with an uncompromising struggle for national identity. The film portrays Štúr not only as a visionary politician and linguist, but also as a man torn by inner doubts and unfulfilled love. The film tells the story of the fateful encounter between Adela Ostrolúcka, the only daughter of a landowner from Ostrá Lúka, and the young philosopher and poet Ľudovít Štúr—and of his struggle to choose between love and self-sacrifice for his nation.

Lukáš Pelč plays the lead role of Ľudovít Štúr. The film was directed and written by Mariana Čengel Solčanská, based on her own novel. Ivana Kološová, Jana Kvantíková, and Marko Igonda also star in leading roles.

The film runs for 112 minutes.

The original concept of the Traveling Cinema came from the heart, out of a love for film. The goal of this “cinema on wheels” is to encourage people to attend cultural events right in their own communities. Behind the project is a civic association of film enthusiasts who started out by running a small village cinema.
